Toddler Program

16 months to 32 months old

Curriculum

For our toddler learning program, we will be using the Creative Curriculum® which balances teacher‐planned and child‐initiated learning, emphasizing responsiveness to children’s strengths, interests and learning styles. Toddlers also begin to learn how to communicate and express themselves, so we complement the curriculum with sensory experiences stimulating children’s natural curiosity and creativity. Children will learn through games, arts, music and play in a loving and caring environment and our teachers will meet children where they are to advance them in toilet learning, independence and self-confidence.

In our classrooms you will see

  • Opportunities for child-initiated, teacher-facilitated, hands-on active experiences in all Curriculum areas.
  • Application of thinking skills, such as problem-solving, deciding, planning, preparing, performing and evaluating.
  • An environment that fosters relationship building, respect for all persons and to work as a community.

Each classroom is designed and equipped with age appropriate furniture and materials. Both toddler and preschool classrooms are composed of various learning centers including blocks, housekeeping, library, manipulative, science and art.  Through play, children will be able to develop their social, emotional, cognitive, small and large motor skills.

The program is designed to meet the standards and requirement of: Minnesota Early Learning Standards, the program will be working on getting accredited by Parent Aware, National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). All instruction in the classrooms will be in Spanish except for a special event. The child care program is available for staff and families to review upon request.
